HICAP provides free and objective information and counseling about Medicare. Volunteer counselors can help you understand your specific rights and health care options.

HICAP counselors can:
- Explain Medicare benefits and plan options
- Assist with cost-saving options
- Help with understanding long-term care services and support
- Advocate for denial of medical coverage and problems with payments to providers
- Assist with Medicare appeals and referrals for legal assistance
- Assist with Medicare fraud and abuse referrals
- Provide Community education, including Roadmap to Medicare classes
